Beanie made of recycled wool and polar
Description
The GEBO POW beanie is 100% recycled and made in Italy. The wool is spun in France in the Tarn from scraps recovered in Europe. The inner fleece is made from recycled Newlife polyester yarn.
RECYCLED WOOL FROM EUROPE
A process of unraveling and defibering transforms the mesh into fiber to 95% of its original length. The wool comes from a network of scrap hosiery scraps from major knitters in the countries of old Europe.
These yarns have the same characteristics as another yarn made with new fibers, or even better in some cases, both in terms of breaking strength (for knitting or weaving) and for the various elongation tests, abrasion, pilling and friction resistance.
REMOVAL OF DYEING
We also avoid dyeing on raw materials, which saves water and energy and reduces the risk of pollution from waste. The scraps are classified by color nuances and we obtain the colors by mixing different materials.
OPTIMIZATION OF RESOURCES
We can work and rework the materials in a closed loop. In comparison with a yarn made from new materials, our recycled yarns are on average 95% less impacting on the environment. This formula also makes it possible to avoid an overproduction of matter, in particular synthetic and cellulosic which are costly in water and energy and often at risk for the environment.
